The striking colors of this jadeite pendant were used to wonderful advantage by the artist who carved this piece. Originally half of a buckle, it makes a distinctive pendant with the head of a handsome dragon at the top. We suspect that the salamander figure originally had a head which, at some point in the decades since this was carved, was broken off. The piece has been artfully repaired so it is hardly noticeable. The overall length is just over 3 1 /4”.
