A Vintage Tiffany & Co. Ribbons Jewel
Created in the late 1980s, this vintage Tiffany & Co. “Ribbons” necklace is a striking example of late 20th-century Tiffany design, combining sculptural 18K yellow gold with platinum and exceptional diamond work.
The necklace is composed of 20 articulated bow-shaped links that create the appearance of overlapping ribbons around the neckline. The seven principal ribbons across the front are accented with platinum and set with brilliant-cut diamonds totaling approximately 5.59 carats. The diamonds are estimated at G color and VVS1 clarity, creating a beautiful contrast against the warmth of the yellow gold.
A flexible swivel-link construction allows the necklace to conform gracefully to the neck while preserving the dimensional quality of the individual ribbon motifs. Measuring approximately 15 inches long and 13/16 inch wide, the necklace has the proportions and presence of a true statement jewel.
The reverse is signed TIFFANY & CO., and the necklace is secured with a flat box clasp and under hinged safety.
